The Cordelle is easily one of my top 3 Nashville wedding Venues I love to film at (along with their sister venue, The Saint Elle). Between the greenery, interior vibe, and GORGEOUS natural lighting in the bridal suite, this venue is an amazing option for brides during their Nashville wedding planning!
Tell me a little about The Cordelle.
The Cordelle is a Downtown Nashville Event Space. The original Victorian home was built in the 1850s, and when we purchased the building in 2013, it had been condemned for several years. It was love at first sight (even in its dilapidated state), and we knew the architecture needed to be saved and revitalized to create a completely unique event space.
What are some of the things The Cordelle has that sets you apart from other Nashville wedding venues?
The Cordelle has the largest private green space in downtown Nashville and is ideal for indoor/outdoor events. It is centrally located and easily accessible from all areas of the city. The proximity to hotels, restaurants, and other Nashville attractions keep your guests blocked from the hustle and bustle of Broadway, but tucked away from the action to allow your event the needed privacy.
How many people can The Cordelle hold, both seated and standing?
The capacity varies and is based on the furniture, set-up, and event type. We can host up to 350 on the lawn for outdoor seated events, 60 on the patio, and 175 indoors. These numbers change when you add lounge furniture, bars, service stations, etc.. but all the counts mentioned take into consideration entertainment, drink service, buffet, and cake table. Our total venue capacity is 400 when using all the areas.
How much does renting The Cordelle cost, and what exactly does that include?
Venue cost is based on the day of the week and month of the year. We offer seasonal rates as well as peak month pricing. These rates start at $3,600 for 12 hours in the space. The pricing includes access to the entire property on the day of your event, furnished Loft, Bridal Suite, Custom Farm Table and 2 Rolling bars from Holler Design, Venue Site manager (does not include planning services), parking for up to 150 guests, and cleaning fee. **There are no additional taxes, surcharges, or fees.
Is there parking available for guests? How many spots?
Our street parking in front of the building is ideal for guests and has about 45 spots (this can serve a guest count of about 150). Once we go over that number, we recommend renting an additional lot nearby. This is facilitated by The Cordelle Logistics Team and includes parking signage and “stadium-style” attendants.
Are couples free to hire their own vendors, or do you have a list of preferred vendors?
We have an “Open Vendor Policy” at The Cordelle which allows our clients to choose their own Licensed and Insured vendors. The Cordelle logistics team is always happy to help clients find their ideal vendors.
What is your alcohol policy?
The Cordelle allows clients to bring their own beverage package. This includes alcohol, wine, beer, etc. We do require that all bar services be provided by a licensed and insured bartender or caterer.
If a wedding is outdoors, what is the contingency plan in case of bad weather?
All clients should have a “rain plan,” which may include a tent or plans to facilitate a flip of the interior space.
Are there bridal rooms and groom’s suites to get ready in?
The Loft is the perfect area for the bride and her attendants to prep and primp for the day. It includes a living room area, dining table, wet bar, private suite, and bathroom. Most often, grooms/groomsmen are getting ready off-site and joining the bridal party in the Loft after the ceremony or first looks.
How far in advance can a date be reserved?
As of January 17, 2021, we are currently booking 2022 and Spring of 2023. Further dates can be reserved, but we haven’t seen those inquires submitted yet this year.
Do you have your own sound equipment and speakers, or will those need to be rented or provided by the entertainment?
At The Cordelle, we have “restaurant stye sound” available to play pre-recorded music for cocktail hour or a mellow dinner. For all live entertainment and the dance party, additional equipment should be provided by the performer.
Will your staff be involved in setting up and breaking down the décor? In what capacity?
All events at The Cordelle are required to have a “Day of” Coordinator or event planner. The set-up of decor and design is part of their responsibilities. This event professional is the connector to all vendors and in charge of facilitating your event timeline as well.
What’s your biggest tip for a couple planning their wedding day?
Hiring event professionals is one of your best investments! Nashville is full of diverse and talented vendors who are knowledgeable team players.
