Hey there! I’m Dave. I’m a traveling wedding photographer located in Nashville, TN. I moved down here in 2016 to pursue not only a degree in marketing, but also my high school sweetheart (We’re getting married March 2021!). I find myself picking up a new hobby every couple of months #Enneagram7. Most recently, that hobby has been running. There’s nothing I love more than the rushing of endorphins after an 8-mile run. I also enjoy immersing myself in different cultures and learning new perspectives. Oh, and food. I really really love food. Especially from different cultures. Which is low-key why I decided to start running, haha.
Timeless. My job goes beyond documenting the day. I want you to be able to feel the same emotions you felt on your wedding day when looking at your photos. I want you to remember the first time you saw each other. Or when your mother is helping you zip up your dress. I love moments. When it’s time to take portraits, my goal is to create a space where you can be yourself. Some of my favorite moments are the first few minutes after the first look. That’s when it usually hits that it’s their wedding day, and then they get to soak it all in. At the end of the day, my goal is to create photos that make you feel over and over again.
I don’t really have one! I find that I love people who are just as stoked to have me photograph their wedding as I am to be there!
“Do I need a second shooter?” Yes and no! For most weddings, I’m comfortable shooting solo. I usually recommend a second shooter when there are multiple locations. For example, If getting ready photos are super important to you, and the bride is getting ready at the venue and the groom is getting ready at a hotel room, a second shooter is perfect for this. I also recommend seconds for weddings with over 200 guests.
My dad always told me, “don’t sweat the petty stuff and don’t pet the sweaty stuff” As someone currently planning a wedding, focus on the things that are meaningful to you because those are the things you will remember years from now. The other piece of advice is to focus on the bigger thing, that being EACHOTHER! It’s so easy to get lost in the endless to-do lists and meetings to where you forget why you’re getting married in the first place! Enjoy the fruits of your labor on your wedding day, but don’t forget to enjoy each other as well.
